How to make homemade pasta

What to do when you have an hour to kill? Make your own pasta of course…it was dinner and a workout! Something I’ve been meaning to do for years now… homemade ravioli and tortellini!

Prep Time

25 minutes

Cook Time

5 minutes


2-3 Servings


    • 1.5 cups of flour
    • 2 eggs (I used an egg replacer)
    • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
    • 2 tablespoons water


      • Add 1.5 cups of flour.
      • Add 1/4 teaspoon fine salt.
      • Add 2 tablespoons of water.
      • Mix all the ingredients together until it reaches the right consistency.
      • Knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic for about 10mins.
      • Cut and roll the dough according to your desired shape.
      • Make your own choice of filling (I made an eggplant, artichokes and olive filling but you can’t go wrong with ricotta and spinach!).
      • TIP: A handy trick is putting your filling in a clean zip bag if you don’t have a piping bag. Cut a small end and squeeze filling onto the pasta.
      • Brush the pasta with beaten egg before sealing.
      • Boil the pasta until they float and you’re done.
      • And voila easy and delicious homemade pasta is ready to serve.
